Nicole Kidman has been cast to portray U.S. newswoman Gretchen Carlson in a new film about late Fox News founder Roger Ailes. The 'Big Little Lies' star will play Carlson in 'Fair and Balanced', which is being directed by filmmaker Jay Roach. Kidman will star alongside Charlize Theron, who is portraying U.S. lawyer-turned-TV-host Megyn Kelly, in the drama.
Scripted by the Oscar-winning screenwriter Charles Randolph and directed by 4 Primetime Emmys-winner Jay Roach, Fair and Balanced is the upcoming movie about women of Fox News, and Roger Ailes, the former CEO of Fox News.
Ailes resigned from Fox News in the middle of the allegations of sexual misconduct. He then became an adviser to the Donald Trump campaign.
The movie's working title Fair and Balanced is a media term referring to an ideal which all media should aspire to: giving equal air-time, column inches etc.
For now, we know that Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron will star in Fair and Balanced, and that Theron is also one of the producers.
