The 52-year-old writer, director and producer was born on June 27, 1966, in New York City, NY, U. S.
He was raised in Los Angeles, by his producer parents. Abrams wanted to become a dentist, but he eventually enlisted at Sarah Lawrence College, and studied film.
Abrams' first screenplay was for Arthur Hiller movie Taking Care of Business (1990), a comedy starring Jim Belushi and Charles Grodin. Abrams was only 23 years old.
Abrams was one year older when he co-produced his first film Regarding Henry (1991). He made a name for himself with producing, writing and directing popular TV series Felicity (1998-2002), Alias (2001-2006), and Lost (2004-2010).
His career is too big and rich for us to mention all the great television shows and movies that Abrams have made.
Nowadays, he is mostly known for being involved in Star Wars, Star Trek and Cloverfield franchises of movies.
